Our wind energy feasibility software is the most comprehensive computer program available on the market today integrating the most minute determinants of energy output such as site elevation, wind turbine hub height, nature of terrain, temperature at sea level, relative humidity of air, etc.…. with the monthly statistical distribution of wind speed characterized by the Weibull probability density function as defined by its shape and scale factors while taking into account all pertinent turbine specifications such as variation in the coefficient of performance versus wind speed, cut-in and cut-out speeds, rotor diameter, power degradation as a function of time, turbine internal energy use, wind power loss upstream of turbine, etc.…
Our software then feeds the estimated energy output from its engineering module to its financial module in a natural and seamless way. Some of the variables used by the financial section are the PPA price of energy -which incorporates a price escalation option- wind turbine cost, planned capital structure which allows for both senior and junior debt as defined by the interest rates and tenures of the loans, debt re-payment frequency, debt service reserve accounts, equity capital and developer’s equity share, length of construction phase, land lease and insurance cost, expected life of project, depreciation method, salvage value of turbine, decommissioning cost, specificities of tax loss carry forward if applicable, etc.…
The financial outputs of our wind energy software include all information, ratios and indices normally sought by capital providers such as yearly net income and cash flow statements, end-of-period and within-period balance sheets, NPV, IRR, interest coverage ratios -both DSCR and LLCR- for both senior and junior debts, WACC, levelized cost of energy (LCOE), etc.…. Since debt providers require the modeling of DSCR and LLCR ratios under uniquely adverse conditions -with likelihood of such occurrences or worse being at most 10%- our software accounts for such risks by curtailing the energy output by a predetermined amount corresponding to the probability of such unlikely scenarios occurring.
All financial statements and indices are then calculated based on the reduced energy output. The program highlights in red all years in which the DSCR and LLCR fall below their required level of 100% or more so that remedial measures could be taken by increasing the debt reserve account, reducing the debt ratios, increasing the loan tenure, seeking alternative sources of financing, etc.... Our program also incorporates integrity checks for all numerical entries constituting the income and cash flow statements. As additional information, our software combines various crucial information in informative and visually-appealing charts and graphs for the benefit of quick and comprehensive overview by various financial stakeholders.
